2015 WORKSHOP DETAILS:
Chakra Opening: Chakras are energy points in the body. Sometimes our chakras are blocked. This workshop will help you learn to remove these blocks, helping you to achieve a state of flow. With the addition of mindful meditation practices energy flow can be enhanced.
Weights in the water! Be cool, stay cool in the water with this ultimate fat blasting workout using tubing and weights.
Riding to the Beat – Cycling Workshop – Let the music move you. Learn how to determine what music matches the formats on your ride. From drills to visualized road, create the playlist with music that brings it all together.
Small Group Training Strategies: Discuss the process of training a small group vs. an individual in this two hour workshop. Participants will learn effective training strategies and the essential skills needed to conduct a small group training session. Workshop attendees will take part in designing and formatting their own SGT session, plus participate in a sample session.
Iner-connectedness Stars with Water. Aquatic Yoga: series of slow, progressive and relaxation movements, synchronize with deep breathing. These movements help increase blood flow, create relaxation and loosen tense muscles and joints. Best of all, it will clear the mind and open a person’s thoughts to the beauty of life and all it has to offer. Since our bodies are more than 50% water, is the true water-mind-body connection.
Dynamic Flexibility and Warm ups Movement Prep – Just as it takes a few minutes to warm up the car after sitting in the cold all night, an effective warm up does the same for our body! In the Movement Prep workshop, we will explore several different new and exciting “warm ups” using movement and flexibility.
Movement prep prepares the body for movement. It increases blood flow to the muscles, elevates heart rate, improves the function of the nervous system and increases core temperature. If you have ever had experience in fitness and/or sports, you’ve probably done some type of stretching. Dynamic flexibility, however, takes stretching to a whole new level. Finally there is a workshop to take the boredom and “same ol thing” out of a warm-up! After experiencing the movement prep warm up, you will be dialed in physically and mentally for the rest of your workout.
Sequence and Flow: Learn and review the dynamic, flowing nature of the Ashtanga yoga method and experience different sequences and flow within this workshop session. Participants will explore sequencing ideas and how to incorporate them safely and effectively in a classroom environment, as well as learn practical teaching tips for yoga postures in a standing, seated and lying poses.
Hardbodies – Group Workshop – A blast from the past – Before the word interval was initiated, I designed Hardbodies for the diehard fitness fanatics at my studio. Its back! – You will learn to combine high intensity cardio with breaks of sculpting and then finish with core training.
The TRX ANYWHERE WORKOUT – Burn fat and build muscle! Leverage gravity and your bodyweight to perform a full body workout. Unplug from the machines and train your body in 3D. Learn to challenge your muscles in every plane of motion.
Reggae Flow to the Core Yoga Enjoy a slow-flow Yoga class to the soft island rhythms, while incorporating core-strengthening poses and exercises into your practice.

CIRC-IT – Join in the CIRC-IT adventure and experience interval training, HIIT style, using a circuit format. Participants will learn and review several training guidelines to help them lead, and class design tips to help them generate a safe and effective workout for all levels.
Funked Up Aqua – Aqua fitness doesn’t have to be just jumping jacks and ski’s! Learn how to use the music to build a combination of moves that are funky and fun, yet easy to teach and easy to follow!

Ballroom Fitness: Dance your way to better health. Learn your basic steps for tangos, waltzes, sambas, salsas while you burn calories. Can also help the mind-body connection.
HEALING OUR BACKS WITH YOGA. Presenting a low back sequence along with abdominal progressions for back care. Learn a diversity of poses to create freedom of movement to improve strength and stability.
Funked Up Cardio Dance – Ditch the flip-flops, and grab your dancing shoes! These island moves will make you groove, as you learn a sequence of easy-to follow dance moves that are taught in a building-block fashion.

- Learn ways to coach and cue participants through the moves in a progression style
“ ALOTTA TABATA!” – HIIT training, P90X, Bootcamp and now Tabata? All High Intensity! All exhausting! All challenging! High intensity training is one of the two top fitness trends for 2014! Why? High Intensity Interval training is an interval based class training protocol that has shown great results in weight loss and increase in fitness. Tabata training is the latest and greatest trend in high intensity training. This workshop will explore the basic format to this workout and give exercise examples and class ideas to call it your own! We will then put it to the test with 30 plus minutes of “Alotta Tabata”!
A Backbend in every Asana – Lift your energy and spirit by opening the heart. Cultivate the emotional awareness at the physical level. Learn how to soften to rise up to the backbend.
Pilates for Players (dancers, golfers and tennis players) – functional movements for a more flexible and stronger core.
Movement Screens and Functional Assessments – This workshop is designed to give the trainer the tools needed to screen as assess their client’s posture, primary movement patterns, joint stability, joint mobility, and range of motion. Movement screening and functional assessments are the ideal ways for a trainer to gain greater understanding of how their client’s bodies work, where their muscle imbalances lie, and what areas they need to target in their programming. Participants will get the opportunity to practice these assessments amongst one another during practicum and discover their own unique functional qualities.
From Zones to Zen – This workshop combines the intensity of spinning with the relaxation of yoga to create the “best of both worlds.” Learn how to use the four energy zones to create the intensity you need for sprinting hills, mastering switch backs, and enjoying the straight-a-ways. Working with Zones is a great tool in monitoring heart rate and/or perceived exertion. End class with challenging core work only to soothe and stretch with yoga and relaxation.
