Pilates Matwork Essentials Intensive - June Kahn
This three part series of intensive workshops introduces a progressive series of exercises and modifications based on the classical work of Joseph Pilates with a contemporary flair. This course enhances the fundamental understanding of core strength and stabilization as it applies to overall functional movement. The exercises selected are based on principles of Pilates, the foundation of core strength and stabilization, and also incorporates physical therapy techniques. Fundamental exercises, with proper execution of form and technique, will be explored as a pre-requisite to Pilates Progressions as they apply to the fitness enthusiast. In addition, choreography options are reviewed to show how Pilates can effectively be presented in a fitness format.
